  • Competitive pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour (DOE)

Required
  • Current CA RN License
  • Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum of 2 years of triage/advice/patient education experience 
  • Experience in high-volume outpatient clinic setting
  • Strong telephone triage and clinical assessment skills 
  • Experience managing in-basket workflows and electronic messaging systems 
  • Strong verbal communication skills with ability to calm and educate parents 
Preferred
  • EPIC experience (highly preferred) 
  • Pediatric outpatient clinic experience (highly preferred)
  • Experience supervising or verifying MA medication administration 
  • Experience managing medication inventory in clinic setting

  • Ability to connect with the patient/parent and provide accurate advice/traige while still connecting on a more personal level and easing worries/fears.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-volume telephone triage and medical advice to parents and caregivers using established clinical protocols. 
  • Assess symptoms, determine urgency of care, and provide appropriate disposition recommendations. 
  • Escalate urgent or emergent cases to providers or emergency services when clinically indicated. 
  • Manage and prioritize incoming calls, electronic messages, refill requests, and in-basket tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Document all triage interactions thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record. 
  • Administer RN-only medications and injections in accordance with provider orders and clinic policy. 
  • Verify and oversee medication administration performed by Medical Assistants to ensure safety and compliance. 
  • Assist providers with in-clinic procedures and support patient care as needed. 
  • Perform routine medication inventory checks and ensure proper storage, labeling, and supply management. 
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventive care. 
  • Complete rquied documentation such as school health forms, medication authorizations, and clinical correspondence. 
  • Collaborate closely with providers, medical assistants, and front office staff to ensure continuity of care and smooth clinic operations.
