  • Pay: $38.00 per hour - $45.00 per hour (DOE) 
  • Schedule: Monday-Sunday (rotating weekends)
  • Shifts: 3:00pm start times (30-40 hr/week)
  • Location: Palo Alto, CA
  • Department: Blood Center
  • Duration: 13 Weeks initially

Minimum Qualifications Education Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of college education in Biology or a related field plus 3 years of laboratory experience; OR
  • 4 years college education in a related field plus 1 year of laboratory experience (required)
Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with sample handling, accessioning, and processing
  • Experience with quantitative chemical analysis, enzyme assays, or similar procedures
  • Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instruments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (beyond basic data entry)
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, accession, process, and prepare clinical specimens for laboratory testing following strict protocols
  • Perform sample aliquoting, labeling, tracking, storage, and disposal
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and automated systems
  • Prepare reagents and manage lab supplies and equipment inventory
  • Conduct and document quality control measures, including environmental and equipment checks
  • Maintain accurate records and update laboratory databases and tracking systems
  • Identify discrepancies in specimen data and take corrective actions as needed
  • Support laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, stocking, and general lab maintenance
  • Adhere strictly to laboratory safety standards, SOPs, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive patient and research data
  • Assist in training staff and improving workflows as needed
