  • Pay: $45.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday - Sunday any 5 days, but Tues-Sat preferred
  • Shifts: Rotating – likely greater need on evenings/nights, 5x8s
  • Location: Palo Alto, CA
  • Duration: 13 Weeks initially (Possibility of extension)

Minimum Qualifications Education Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 6 months of sterile compounding or inpatient pharmacy experience
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current Pharmacy Technician license issued by the California Board of Pharmacy
    OR
  • Pharmacy Intern license issued by the California Board of Pharmacy
    OR
  • Pharmacist license issued by the California Board of Pharmacy
Preferred:
  • Experience working with automated dispensing systems and EHR systems
Responsibilities As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II, you will:
  • Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous medications
  • Process medication orders in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Manage returned and discontinued medications
  • Monitor expiration dates and maintain medication kit inventory
  • Support environmental monitoring and escalate out-of-range values appropriately
  • Distribute medications and support workflow across inpatient units
  • Precept and train new pharmacy technician staff
  • Perform inventory management, including rotating stock and removing expired supplies
  • Conduct automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) restocking, pulls, and controlled substance counts
  • Participate in narcotic discrepancy investigations and escalate appropriately
  • Deliver medications to specialized areas following safety protocols (e.g., MRI areas)
  • Perform advanced assignments such as hazardous sterile compounding or TPN preparation
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nursing staff, and other departments to resolve medication-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and safety regulations
