  • Pay: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Shift Time: 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Duration: 6 months Contract with anticipation for long term placement 
  • Start Date: ASAP!

Required
  • CA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) OR CA Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  • Minimum 6 months of full time Social Work experience within behavioral health OR Minimum 6 months of full time Social Work experience providing clinical or case management services
  • Master's Degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, nursing or related field
  • Electronic Charting experience 
  • Valid and current CA Motor Vehicle Operator's license 
  • Experience in Mental Health specifically with schizophrenia
Preferred
  • Previous work experience in detention facility (highly preferred)
  • Previous experience and knowledge of CARE program (highly preferred) 
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) - must have prior to start 
  • Complete the "Medicare Enrollment Process for Physicians and Non-Physician Practitioners" through the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - must have prior to start 
  • Successfully be enrolled in Prover Application and Validation for Enrollment (PAVE) web portal - must have prior to start

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, community resources and organizations

  • Ability to Analyze, evaluate and make sound decisions 
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and effective reports, correspondence and other written materials 
  • Ability to work with a diverse population while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of current theories, principles, and practices for services to clients with serious behavioral health care symptoms and diagnosis. 
  • Knowledge of psychological diagnostic methods and terminology 
  • Knowledge of cultural and social factors affecting behavior patterns 
  • Knowledge of wellness, recovery and resiliency oriented strategies and supports 
  • Knowledge of dual recovery/co-occurring disorder treatment, screening and assessment tools
  • Knowledge of community needs, resources and organizations related to behavioral health care 
  • Knowledge of principles of social needs, problems, attitudes and behavioral patters 
  • Knowledge of computer applications related to the work 
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Provides clinical and case management services to Behavioral Health Clinic Services clients; interviews clients and family members; conducts initial and ongoing psychosocial strength-based assessments.
  • Develops initial and ongoing treatment plans on assigned clients; identifies and pursues necessary resources to implement treatment plans. 
  • Conducts individual, group, and family psychotherapy session; provides education on behavioral health care symptoms and the role of medications in alleviating such symptoms; diagnoses illnesses and dual recovery/co-occurring disorders. 
  • Prepares and maintains psychosocial case histories for use in diagnostic evaluations and monitoring client progress. 
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed; stabilizes clients in crisis including brief intervention in clinic; arranges for hospitalization and coordinates treatment elements. 
  • Maintains all records in according with the Quality Assurance standards.
  • Prepares reports, case summaries, correspondence and other written material as well as participating in clinical case presentations and peer reviews. 
  • Testifies in court when required for determination of client's legal status regarding outpatient court-ordered treatment. 
  • Conducts mental status examinations and formulates Diagnostic and Statistical manual (DSM)-IV related diagnoses. 
  • Collaborates with other departments and agencies related to client treatment planning. 
  • Provides education and consultation services to Alameda County departments and the community as assigned. 
  • May provide direction and assistance to Behavioral Health Clinicians I and graduate interns. 
  • May serve as a liaison to other community agencies. 
  • Conducts assessments and mental status exams, review of mental health history for individuals who are incarcerated and who the court is ordering to assess to see if individuals qualify for CARE Court.
