Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and service-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join a multi-specialty outpatient clinic in Emeryville, CA. This role blends clinical support with front-office coordination, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional patient experience.

The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers and clinic staff to support patient flow, clinical procedures, and administrative processes across multiple specialties.

Assignment Details

  • Pay Rate: $32.00–$35.00 per hour (DOE)

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week

  • Shift: 8-hour day shifts

  • Duration: 13-week contract (initial)

  • Location: Emeryville, California (Multi-Specialty Clinic)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to patient visits

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, weights, and medical intake

  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments

  • Administer medications and vaccinations per protocol and authorization

  • Perform point-of-care testing (EKGs, urine dipsticks, pregnancy tests, blood glucose)

  • Collect, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing

  • Process prescription refill requests according to established guidelines

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, including radiology services

  • Perform patient check-in and check-out, collect payments, and verify authorizations

  • Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information

  • Respond to patient inquiries and deliver professional, courteous customer service

  • Maintain clean, organized clinical and front desk work areas

  • Act as a patient advocate and liaison to support care coordination and continuity

Minimum Qualifications Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma from an approved school or institution
Licenses & Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association required
Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting

  • Experience with patient coordination, front desk operations, and clinical support
