About the role:
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Pay: $35.00–$40.00/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday
Shifts: 5:00 PM–1:30 AM
Duration: 13 weeks (with likely extension to 5–6 months)
Start Date: ASAP

Required Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Patient Access, Registration, or Front Desk roles.
  • Must have experience in ER or Urgent Care settings.
  • Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of insurance verification processes, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO, and PPO.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance programs.
  • Competence in using EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Capability to excel under pressure and handle patient inquiries efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Warmly greet patients and assist with registration, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify insurance eligibility for various programs (Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO, PPO, Workers' Compensation, etc.).
  • Securely process payments, including co-pays and deductibles.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns, escalating complex cases when needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and medical teams to provide seamless patient care.
  • Accurately document patient information in EPIC, adhering to hospital policies and billing regulations.
  • Contribute to maintaining smooth patient flow within the healthcare facility.
