About the Job
  • Competitive Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 an hour (DOE and Certification and previous SHC experience) 
  • Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Shift Times: 9:00AM-5:30PM
  • Contract Duration: 3-month contract 
  • Start Date: ASAP!

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved school /institution or equivalent documented training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Assisting/Patient Care Coordination
  • Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • EPIC experience
  • EPIC In Basket Management experience 
  • Strong Front and Back office experience

Preferred
  • CMA - Certified or Registered Medical Assistant 
  • Previous work experience in Cancer Center/Oncology 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of coding and billing regulations
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
  • Ability to solve problems and identify solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the patient care team. 
  • Ability to learn and understand population health and disease population concepts and practices; inventory methods and practices; motivation learning; customer relationships service concepts and practices. 

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for appointments by rooming them, taking vital signs, and gathering necessary medical information. 
  • Support physicians during procedures and exams, assist with vaccinations, medication administration, and other clinical tests (EKGs, Point-of-care testing, and specimen collection). 
  • Handle medication orders, administer approved medications, and process prescription refill requests. 
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, including follow-ups, radiology, and other specialty services to ensure timely care. 
  • Perform front desk tasks such as checking patients in/out, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and updating demographic information. 
  • Collect, enter, and maintain patient information in electronic systems, including managing CRM and in-basket messages. 
  • Act as a liaison for patients, answering questions, providing information and coordinating referrals to ensure a supportive experience. 
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized clinic environment by stocking supplies, ensuring exam room readiness, and assisting with clerical tasks as needed.
