About

  • Competitive pay: $80–$85/hr

  • Shift Days: Mon–Sun 4 10-hour shifts

  • Shift Time: Rotating start times 6AM–11AM

  • Start Date: 11/17

  • Department: Pediatric PACU / Pre-Op

  • Location: Palo Alto, CA

  • Duration: 13 weeks initially

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (preferred)
    Current and active CA RN license

  • BLS, PALS,  certifications through the AHA

  • Minimum 1 year pediatric PACU experience

  • IV insertion skills, experience with PICC lines

  • Experience with Epic charting or computerized charting
Preferred

  • Previous travel assignment experience

  • 2+ years pediatric PACU experience

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications including Fentanyl, Morphine, Dilaudid, Versed, Ketamine, Zofran, Tylenol, Demerol, Reglan, Albuterol
  • Provide post-anesthesia care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents following surgical procedures

  • Monitor patients at 1:1 and 1:2 ratios for all levels of acuity and complexity

  • Administer and monitor medications safely, including opioids, sedatives, antiemetics, and other commonly used perioperative drugs

  • Collaborate closely with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth patient transitions from pre-op to PACU

  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, pain management, and post-op recovery status

  • Document all patient care accurately in Epic charting system

  • Educate families regarding post-procedure care and follow-up instructions

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based practice guidelines
