About the Job
  • Pay: $70.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Rotating Nights; Monday - Friday and every other weekend
  • Shift Time:
    • 3:00pm - 11:30pm (3 days)
    • 11:00pm - 7:30am (Wednesday and Thursday)
  • Duration: Full Time, 3-month Contract
  • Start Date: ASAP!

Required Qualifications
  • CA Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or MSW
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Social Work
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Pediatric setting
  • Experience in Crisis Management, Hospital Operations, and Behavioral assessment and planning
Required Abilities/Skills
  • Apply theories, principles, and practices of medical social work and social services delivery systems in a hospital or medical center setting
  • Gather data needed to assess the needs of patients and families
  • Manage a caseload, recall case details, maintain confidentiality of information, and determine the appropriate course of action in emergencies and other stressful situations
  • Provide written case narratives and reports
  • Apply effective assessment, interviewing, and counseling techniques
  • Utilize hospital and medical center resources to access and provide for patient care needs, and act on behalf of client needs to obtain necessary services
  • Understand the needs, problems, attitudes, and behavior of hospital patients and their families

A pediatric social worker’s day involves assessing patients’ social, emotional, and physical needs, collaborating with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans, and coordinating referrals to specialty services. They conduct assessments, interviews, and evaluations, maintaining detailed records of patient interactions. Providing supportive care and education to patients and families, they help them cope with illness and navigate treatment options. The social worker also plays a key role in advocating for patients’ needs and ensuring they have access to necessary resources.
